What else could we say to the East Nashville community that has embraced and supported us for the last year? You’re incredible, wonderful, stupendous, magnificent, amazing and very, very cool!
We officially opened on Saturday, June 2, 2007, and over 200 people walked through our doors that day. We signed up over 40 students our first day! It was overwhelming. Even the people who didn’t sign up that day offered encouraging words and thanked us for being part of the community. Our wonderful friends and families arrived early and stayed late to help with food, tours, questions, registration forms and moral support. [ read more abou the grand opening ]
Since that first day, we’ve worked more hours than we’ll ever be able to count, paid more bills, talked to more people and basically worked harder than we ever imagined. But we’ve also felt happier and more rewarded than we ever imagined either!
We cannot express how much this community means to us and how encouraged we are every day by the people here who really want to grow and improve, who appreciate a business owner taking the chance to invest a life’s savings and dream in a small corner of the world, who will go out of their way to support and help you in every way possible. Our first year has been incredibly successful. It’s definitely been a team effort, and there are hundreds of people on the team that we don’t even know by name.
We worked with the other merchants in Riverside Village to sponsor Music in the Courtyard last summer. The performances were terrific and HOTboth figuratively and literally. We’ve hosted special events such as Easter Egg hunt specials, trick-or-treating at Halloween and a magnificent Holiday Open House in December to which another 100 or so people came. The good times will keep coming!
Our students are inspiring. From the youngest to the oldest, they find such joy in music, and their smiles are a constant reminder of why we love having a school. We thank them for their loyalty and interest and for their encouragement and example.
Our instructors are intimidating in their prowess. They are all so good! On top of their immense talents, they are also gifted instructors able to reach a variety of students on different levels. Perhaps this comes from the combination their many years as professional musicians and as teachers.
Our fellow merchantsInglewood Backs and Tracks, Sip Café, Mike’s Ice Cream, Mitchell’s Deli, Neet Designs and Castrillo’sare great friends and neighbors. Each of them has helped us in some way over the last year. Success is much easier to find when you have a group like this working together.
So what’s the first year of a small business like? Busy, challenging, difficult and wonderful, gratifying, amazing! We thank all of you for the gift of this first year, and we look forward to many more!
NEW! We now offer Kindermusik through child care centers! We can offer your students an incredible, musical experience for a low monthly fee that includes new, at-home materials each month and a guide for parents so they can participate, too! Please contact us for more info:
